Canadian National Memorial
Vimy, France, 2017
The Canadian National Vimy Memorial is a spectacular memorial dedicated to the Canadian soldiers sacrificed in World War I in northern France, near the borders with Belgium.
MUEVO has undertaken the exterior and interior museum constructions of the Visitor Training Center, which tells in a contemporary and interactive way the story of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the contribution of the Canadian military forces to the evolution of war and the importance of peace.
In particular, our company built the display cases for the center’s historical exhibits and the special equipment, as well as undertook the wall fit-out, taking into advantage the natural color of the metal.
MUEVO’s research into the use and combination of new materials reduced the cost of the final structure, achieving, at the same time, the desired aesthetic result. Mirror glass was placed on the display cases and metal panels were placed on the walls, made by lighter and safer materials. Our team went through dozens of processing combinations of different metallic elements, to identify the ones that show the highest resistance to wear, while keeping the natural color of the metal.
