Figure de l’Artiste

Petite Galerie, Louvre

A space dedicated to art and cultural education, the Louvre Museum’s Petite Galerie hosted a temporary exhibition titled “The Advent of the Artist” from September 2019 to July 2021.

The exhibition was organised as a complementary event to the museum’s permanent collection of masterpieces by great Renaissance artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Michelangelo, etc.

The Advent of the Artist focused on the transition of artists from a state of anonymity to one of wider recognition during the Renaissance, as well as on their representation in literature at the time.

MUEVO created display cases to house nearly 40 works of art from the Louvre’s permanent collection, alongside the literature extracts that tracked the evolution of the artist status from antiquity to the 19th century.
