Description

Yesterday was a very special day for our company, as the Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos in Crete reopened its doors to the public, after 12 years of renovation works. This is one of the first museum projects that is entirely implemented by MUEVO in its home country, Greece.

Specifically, MUEVO provided 200 display cases of international museum standards, as well as more than 100 unique structures for the exposition of the 2500 archaeological treasures sourced from the area of Lasithi.

Our constructions for the presentation of the Museum’s collections followed the modern museographic concept that guided MUEVO’s work in this project. It is the first time that such innovative materials and exhibition systems are being applied in Greece. A special note should be made for the glass raised floor that covers two tons of sea sand, resulting in a unique setting for the antiquities presented in said room.

Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni was present for the opening of the Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos, which will be officially inaugurated in October. The Museum will remain open to the public in the meantime, offering free admission for one month.
